Warning. Unless you’re a serious hard-core off-roader that lives to push their vehicle beyond the limit, you can stop reading right now. The BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 isn’t the tire for you.
I mean let’s face it. There’s nothing quite like the enjoyment you get from taking your vehicle off-road and ripping through the mud, leaving nothing behind you but dirt flying in your wake.
So the better the tire, the harsher the terrain you can take on, and the bigger the thrill you get.
Not unless you seek out the harshest terrain possible, with the more obstacles and challenges the better.
Easily one of the best mud tires around
For consistent traction that maintains respect in any environment, the KM2 fuses a symmetric tread design that features deep, self-cleaning independent tread blocks with thick sidewall lugs and multiple biting edges at a variety of angles that allow the tire to sink its teeth into the ground no matter what’s underneath them.
They grind through sand and weave through watery mud and slop with ease. They hold really well on gravel roads, even at high speeds, and provide amazing traction for your rock crawling adventures.
No question about it. These tires are the real deal. They grab whatever is underneath them and hold on for dear life.
When you’re taking your vehicle off-road, durability is really important. The last thing you want is a puncture when you’re halfway up a mountain or deep in the woods. It can put an immediate halt to your fun.
The BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 is as tough as they come. Inside the tire you’ll find twin steel belts and BF Goodrich’s Krawler TEK sidewalls and casing for resistance to bruising, cutting and tearing. Krawler TEK consists of three components that include large, thick sidewall lugs to increase sidewall strength and provide added traction in soft soil. A cut and chip resistant sidewall compound to protect against punctures. And a TriGard three-ply polyester carcass for increased strength and resistance to bruising caused by rocks and rough trails.
But how do they transition from the highway to the trail?
Mud tires are notoriously loud and obnoxious on the highway. However, these are surprisingly and pleasantly quiet compared to the other mud tires out there. As long as you don’t act silly and push it too far, steering response, braking and traction on dry and wet pavement is secure and consistent.
Perfect if you like to drive your rig daily but want to go play on the weekend.
But be careful on icy or slushy road surfaces as traction drops significantly and you may have difficulty stopping.
Tread life is exceptional, but if you want to get the most out of them make sure you don’t ignore rotations and maintenance or irregular wear will occur.
The BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM2 is available in 34 sizes and should be the tire of choice for 4WD enthusiasts who want the latest in top off-road performance. Even if it puts a dent in your pocket.
