If you’re looking to get the most out of your sport car, coupe or sedan, then you need to take a look at the Potenza S-04 Pole Position, Bridgestone’s Max Performance Summer tire.
It’s for spirited drivers who value precision handling and solid performance above all else.
The Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position offers a great blend of wet and dry performance, surprisingly good ride comfort, responsive steering and high-levels of cornering grip. And it’s intent is to lay claim to the throne of the max performance summer tire category.
Very predictable with plenty of grip
The Potenza S-04 Pole Position molds a silica infused tread compound into an aggressive-looking asymmetric tread pattern. Thanks to interlocking center rib and larger outboard tread blocks, along with active rubber inserts in the sidewalls, these tires stick like in glue in the corners. And steering response on dry surfaces and at high speeds is smooth and predictable for unbeatable levels of driving comfort. These tires produce grip that plants your car to the road at all times.
For a Max Performance Summer Tire, the Potenza S-04 Pole Position is notably quiet and comfortable. For strength and durability at higher speeds, as well as a more comfortable ride, the internal structure of the Potenza S-04 features two lightweight steel belts supported by a spirally wrapped aramid/nylon cord reinforcement. The Potenza S-04 tends to be a quieter and less harsh ride than its competitors and stability at all speeds is fantastic.
How do they react in the rain?
Well the Potenza S-04 Pole Position offers some of the best wet surface traction in its class. Wet braking has been enhanced with high angle tread blocks in the intermediate ribs while slanted lateral grooves evacuate water into wide circumferential grooves to help resist hydroplaning. They travel through puddles smoothly and cornering in the wet is especially impressive. So rainfall and standing water won’t put a stop to your fun. The Potenza S-04 Pole Position provides excellent overall wet performance that’s just like driving in the dry. They accelerate quickly from a standstill and cornering in the wet is especially impressive.
Just give the Potenza S-04 Pole Position time to warm up and you’ll find yourself pushing your car to the absolute limit of its capabilities.
The Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position is available in sizes ranging from 16 to 20 inches, all of which carry a Y-speed rating, with prices starting at $165 depending on size.
Tread wear is good for a max performance summer tire, however, Bridgestone don’t offer any tread life warranty on the Potenza S-04 Pole Position.
Performance wise, they’re neck and neck with the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, but cheaper. They work wonders on the track while still being suitable for some spirited daily driving.
