If you drive a jeep, sport utility vehicle or pickup truck, you definitely need to check out the Firestone Destination A/T. With some of the best on and off-road traction in its class, the Destination A/T mixes ride quality with year-round traction that inspires confidence on any terrain and gives you a feeling of resounding security in dry,wet and wintry conditions.

Molded into a symmetric all-terrain tread pattern, the tire’s long link carbon compound is specially designed to blend wet and dry performance on-road with the toughness to resist cuts, punctures and bruising off the road.

Traction and handling on almost any surface is outstanding

For stability on the highway, and better grip in the mud and snow, the Destination A/T uses continuous center ribs that are flanked by independent intermediate blocks and wrap around shoulders.

However, you may have encounter some issues when driving in deep, heavy snow. In light to moderate snow they can handle themselves fine, but when it really starts to pile up they struggle to pull you forward. It seems the traction just isn’t there to dig through heavy snowfall and pull. Leaving you red-faced and frustrated with your wheels spinning. And if you’re driving on ice covered roads or below freezing temperatures, you’ll quickly find out that these tires don’t stick much.

One the pavement they handle very well in rain and puddles with reliable resistance to hydroplaning. For better handling and braking in wet weather, the open shoulder slots and circumferential grooves rapidly expel water away from between the tire and the road surface.

Now I’m a firm believer that tires should be seen and not heard. For an A/T tire, the ride comfort of the Destination A/T certainly exceeds expectations. They behave impeccably well on the highway and noise is practically non-existent.

Whether you’re driving into the mountains on rough logging roads or cross country over rocky terrain, these tires will stand up to the abuse. The sidewalls are nice and strong and can absorb plenty of punishment. The tire’s internal structure features twin, high-tensile steel cord belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon on top of a polyester cord casing for added strength and durability.

Do you enjoy the occasional deep mudding excursion or risky rock crawl?

Then I wouldn’t recommend these tires for you. These tires are more suitable to handle mild off-roading situations. If you’re more of a thrill seeker, you might want to take a look at the Firestone Destination M/T.

Firestone have made the Destination A/T available in 24 sizes, with the tallest being 33 inches, and offer a tread warranty for 50,000 miles or 5 years. And there are three styling options available. Your choices are: outline white letter, traditional blackwall and a special edition blackwall featuring a stylish Carbon Black Camo Design.

If you’re looking for a long lasting, quiet all terrain tire with a stylish appearance, your search has ended.
