The Altimax RT43 is General Tire’s standard all season tire engineered for the drivers of coupes, sedans, minivans and crossover vehicles.

General Tire’s goal in building the Altimax RT43 was to improve upon the tread life of the original Altimax while offering competent all season traction and a smooth, comfortable ride. All at a lower price point that most of the competition.

Silence is golden

The Altimax RT43 features a unique Twin Cushion Silica Tread Compound that puts an all season top compound for great year-round traction on top of a low-density foundation compound that soaks up any road vibrations to deliver amazing ride comfort. This tread compound is molded into a symmetric tread design featuring a continuous center rib and independent tread blocks that utilize sound wave suppression technology to eliminate any annoying road noise that could spoil your drive.

Solid grip in all types of weather conditions

The Altimax RT43 performs as well in wet conditions as they do on dry roads. They invoke a supreme feeling of confidence behind the wheel. Traction is among the best in class for all types of weather and road conditions. Even if you’re caught out in a torrential downpour, these tires will keep you safe. Four circumferential grooves and General’s Anti-Slip Design work together to increase the number of biting edges. This servers to enhance traction, reduce the risk of hydroplaning and deliver outstanding overall wet performance. These biting edges also help hold you to the road on light snow covered surfaces. But while traction remains consistent and dependable in the snow, the Altimax RT43 has a tough time coping on the ice.

General Tires ALTIMAX RT43 Tread

The Altimax RT43 also features Visual Alignment Indicators. These are a small cluster of evenly spaced sipes that you should check every few thousand kilometres. They will tell you if the tire is wearing evenly. Another nice add-on to the Altimax RT43 is the Replacement Tire Monitor. It features a stamp in the tread that visually indicates “replace tire” based on the amount of tread wear.

The General Tires Altimax RT43 comes in 44 T and H speed rated sizes. Sizes range from 13 to 18 inches with prices starting from around $65 upwards. The tire comes with a 45 day customer satisfaction trial and a 75,000 mile limited tread life warranty. This shows General Tires confidence in the longevity and quality of their tire.

The RT43 is an affordable tire that’s long lasting, performs great in all conditions, handles well and rides smoothly. They allow you to stretch your dollar to get a high-level of performance and value for your money.
