Are you looking for a tire that’s reasonably priced and offers long wear, solid traction in dry and wet conditions, and an increase in fuel efficiency for your vehicle?

Designed for the drivers of coupes, vans and crossover vehicles, the Assurance Fuel Max is Goodyear’s mid-tier Passenger all season tire. The Assurance Fuel Max aims to save you money at the gas pump while providing confident traction and handling in wet, dry and wintry weather conditions.

Dry Performance

The Assurance Fuel Max utilizes a special all-season tread compound that’s molded into two unique tread zones. The tire’s dry Tread zone employs strong shoulder blocks to improve handling, braking and acceleration performance in dry conditions. While a continuous center rib helps to enhance cornering performance and increase stability and steering response at all speeds. And for added strength and durability the internal structure of the Assurance Fuel max features two steel belts with nylon reinforcement and a polyester cord body.

Winter Performance

The tire’s Wet Tread Zone features Goodyear’s Dual Aqua Channel grooves around the tread that expel water away from the tire to improve traction on wet surfaces and limit any risk of hydroplaning. Even though at times they can slip a little on wet surfaces, especially when cornering close to the limit, the Assurance Fuel Max delivers confident grip, braking and handling in wet weather. Overall traction is terrific and the ride is smooth with very little road noise.

Goodyear ASSURANCE FUEL MAX Tread

The only real downfall of the Assurance Fuel Max is its traction capabilities in extreme winter weather, as accelerating and braking on hard-packed snow or ice is a major struggle for these tires. The multiple sipes around the tire’s tread that are suppose to add biting edges fail in providing reliable snow traction and grip in winter weather conditions.

If you live in a coastal region that doesn’t see a lot of snow you can confidently run these tires all year-round. But if you live in an area with heavy snowfalls, it’s best you stick to a set of dedicated winter tires to keep you safe.

Overall

All in all, the Assurance Fuel Max provides crisp steering response and excellent handling and grip on dry or wet pavement. They deliver a definite increase in fuel efficiency and an exceptionally long lasting tread life.

The Assurance Fuel Max is available in a wide variety of sizes ranging from 16 to 19 inches with a speed rating of H. Prices on the Assurance Fuel Max start at approximately $137 and up and Goodyear back their tire with a 6 year or 65,000 mile tread warranty and a materials and workmanship are covered for 6 years and have a free replacement during the first year or first 2/32 inches of wear.
