Because the tread blocks on these tires are specially designed with a round, tapered edge, when you brake, the load is transferred to whichever blocks are in contact with the pavement. So the tread blocks actually flatten themselves upon the road to increase the contact patch with the road surface for better wet traction that helps bring your car to an immediate halt when necessary.

So unless you hit the roads driving like an absolute maniac, you won’t feel any overwhelming sense of unease in the rain.

However, traction does begin to drop off in cold weather, so take it easy and don’t push it if the temperature drops significantly. And no matter what you do, keep out of the snow.

Goodyear states in their warranty that these tires are not recommended for winter use, and so any tread or shoulder cracking on these tires as a direct result of winter use will not be covered.

For a high-performance tire, tread wear is minimal.

Goodyear’s fuel saving technology means there’s less material in the tire and so there’s less heat generation, which leads to lower rolling resistance for a longer tread life. If you put a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 on your car, expect them to stick around for awhile.
