The Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor is a tough tire.

It’s an all-terrain light truck tire designed to satisfy the on and off road needs of pickup, van and SUV drivers.

In addition to the standard-duty version of the Wrangler SilentArmor, Goodyear also offers a heavy-duty Wrangler SilentArmor Pro-grade version that’s specifically designed for three quarter and one-ton light trucks that regularly tow or haul heavy loads.

So for anyone that needs a heavy duty tire that will tow extreme loads, the Wrangler SilentArmor is a great choice.

To endure the demands placed on it, the Wrangler SilentArmor’s internal structure consists of twin, high steel belts reinforced by a layer of incredibly strong Dupont Kevlar Cord.

These tires will eat through anything off-road.

Goodyear WRANGLER SILENTARMOR Tread

To increase the tire’s longevity, the Wrangler SilentArmor uses long-wearing silica blend tread compounds that are molded into a multi-faceted symmetric tread design.

Goodyear have also molded their durawall rubber compound into the base of the tread grooves and sidewall to increase the tire’s resistance to rock drilling, scuffling and abrasions caused on the jobsite or when off-road. And rim guards are employed to help protect the wheels from damage caused by banging off curbs and from off-road hazards with the potential to leave you stranded.

They work great on the pavement and are very well mannered, but off-road is where they excel. The open tread pattern really enhances off-road traction, enabling you to take on almost any terrain.

But that’s not to say they’re completely without fault when tackling off-road environments. If you regularly encounter deep mud and take pleasure in serious mudding, you should stay clear of the Wrangler SilentArmor. They’re not the best tire at cleaning themselves and the excessive wheel spinning is likely to get you stuck. And the closer down the line you get to muddy clay, the more trouble they have clearing out.

What about the snow?

The Wrangler SilentArmor are just plain fun in the snow. They have a severe snow rating and although light to moderate snow causes no problems, deep snow will have you quite a bit, but nothing these beasts can’t fight their way through. Ice traction however, could definitely be improved as these tires have a major tendency to break loose.

Designed to provide the ruggedness the job demands, the Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor is fantastic solution for the requirements of heavy-duty hauling, towing and other work loads both on and off-road.

They’re stable, smooth and relatively quiet on the highway. And thankfully road noise doesn’t go up with wear. You’ll barely even notice them.

Treadlife is sensational and traction remains as grippy as day one. You can expect to enjoy at least 50,000 miles out of them, which Goodyear even guarantees with a 50,000 mile tread warranty.

Depending on the size selected, they’re available in either a black sidewall or one with raised white letters.
