As an already established South Korean brand, Kumho generally offers a good run for the money when it comes to car tires. Its Kumho Solus KH16 is one of those, an all-season tire fitting 15“ to 18“ rims, which means that it’s good for mid-size sedans, MPVs, smaller SUVs and coupes. As with the majority of all-season tires, dry roads are in favor, but KH16 offers good pefrormance ratings on wet surfaces, as well as in light snow. To add up to that, Kumho offers a 60.000 mile limited tread wear warranty, which is a nice offer from the manufacturer.

Kumho Solus KH16 on dry

Kumho SOLUS KH16 Tread

As we’ve already pointed out, the KH16 performs the best on dry roads, where it offers a good mix of comfort and stability in cornering and maneuvering, with a H speed rating. During driving, the tires qualify as quiet, with a firm grip at all speeds. All in all, the performance in dry is great considering the cost, so it can be said that Kumho KH16 offer good value for the money, especially on city commuters.

Kumho Solus KH16 in rain and snow

For a budget tire, KH16 offers respectable performance on wet roads as well. The design of the treads works well against aquaplaning, where KH16 beats the competition in similar price range. Kumho KH16 can handle light snow, but slower speeds and smooth cornering are advised.

Key features:

  • All-season tire
  • Fits 15“-18“ rims
  • 000 mile limited tread wear warranty
  • Good ride comfort
  • Good grip on dry roads
  • Respectable performance in rain

To conclude, the Kumho Solus KH16 is a good tire for those who don’t mind driving easily, and who put comfort in favor of performance. When used within its limits, Kumho KH16 is a very good budget tire for daily commuting and longer rides as well.
