Do you drive an ultra high performance sport car, sedan, or coupe?

Then I’m sure you hate when the winter arrives and you have to drive during freezing temperatures, snow and ice. You’re fun is cut short and you can’t indulge in the spirited driving that you’re used to.

Well Michelin intend to change all that with their Performance Winter/Snow tire, the Pilot Alpin PA4.

Michelin PILOT ALPIN PA4 Tread

The Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 is everything a snow tire should be. In addition to lower rolling resistance for increased fuel efficiency, the Pilot Alpin PA4 is designed to deliver sensational winter traction, quick and responsive steering, outstanding handling and cornering, and enjoyable ride comfort. The Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 stays quiet at all speeds and across a variety of road surfaces.

It’s hands down of the of the best winter performance tires you can buy. But what makes the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 such a great winter tire?

They plant you to the road and never let go

Well to ensure that the Pilot Alpin PA4’s tread rubber remains pliable in low temperatures and maintains traction in cold conditions, the tire uses a special silica based sunflower oil Helio tread compound. Allowing them to adapt to any rapid changes in temperature without sacrificing grip.

The compound is molded into an asymmetric tread design with a heavily grooved tread pattern, wrap-around shoulder design and Michelin’s high-density Stabiligrip 3D sipe technology.

This results in outstanding traction, handling and braking performance in snow, slush, rain and ice, with steering that is frighteningly precise and cornering that is stable and responsive. They claw and dig their way through snow for unbelievable traction. Tire spin is non existent and the Alpin PA4 is more than competent on ice covered road surfaces, with ice road braking being particularly impressive.

In the dry,the Pilot Alpin PA4 is great for a snow tire in terms of handling performance. It handles more like an all season tire than a winter tire. In fact handling and cornering are outstanding on all types of pavement in all types of weather conditions.

The Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 proves you can still have fun in foul weather.

They’re a testament to the fact that you can engineer a fantastic winter tire without giving up too much in terms of dry traction and handling.

For driving a high-performance car during the winter, the Michelin Pilot PA4 is one of the best choices available.

The Pilot Alpin PA4 is backed by a 30,000 mile tread wear warranty and carries Michelin’s Standard Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty, which covers defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the original usable tread, or for 6 years from date of purchase, whichever occurs first. And sizes are available from 18 to 20 inches.
